Fishing trip - Wild west Seti Karnali

Day 1

Arrival & Journey to Dipyal

Fly from Kathmandu to Dhangadi, which takes around 1 hour. From there, embark on a 6-7 hour drive to Gopghat. After reaching the put-in point, raft for 1.5 hours near the Dipyal Bridge and set up camp for the night.

Day 2

Rafting to Budhi-Ganga Confluence

After breakfast, embark on a rafting journey starting from Dipayal, heading towards the Budhi-Ganga confluence. Set up camp before reaching the confluence, surrounded by beautiful nature.

Day 2

Day 3

Fishing Begins – Budhi Ganga Confluence

Continue rafting until you reach the Budhi-Ganga confluence, where you’ll set up camp. Begin fishing for the legendary Golden Mahseer, Goonch, and Asala, all while soaking in the wilderness around you.

Day 4-6

Fishing Expedition & Scorpion Beach Camp

Spend a full day at the first fishing camp, where you’ll target Golden, Copper, and Phalame Mahseer. On the next day, raft to Scorpion Beach Camp, a stunning spot near the Seti Karnali and Karnali confluence, perfect for fishing and relaxation.

Day 7-8

Rafting & Prime Fishing Spot – Karnali Confluence

Raft towards the Doban area, which is known for its prime fishing spots. Spend two full days fishing for Golden Mahseer along a 17-kilometer stretch of the river, exploring its remote beauty and abundant wildlife.

Journey to Jamune Village

Raft towards an unspoiled beach, experiencing fewer rapids. Spend the day relaxing and fishing, with plenty of time to enjoy the serenity of the surroundings. Set up camp for the night on the beach.

Raft towards an unspoiled beach, experiencing fewer rapids. Spend the day relaxing and fishing before setting up camp.

Final Fishing & Departure Preparation

On the final day of fishing, you’ll have a chance to explore the area and do some last-minute fishing. Afterward, begin preparations for departure.

Return to Kathmandu

Raft to Chisapani (Karnali Bridge, Bardia National Park) and wrap up the adventure. From here, you have two options: either visit Bardia National Park or head back to Kathmandu, either by a 17-hour drive or by a flight from Nepalgunj to Kathmandu.

Day 1

Rafting & Exploring Fishing Spots

Continue rafting down the Bheri River, stopping at prime fishing spots along the way. Fish for Mahseer and Goonch. After a full day of rafting and fishing, camp along the river and enjoy the peaceful environment.

Day 4

Fishing & Wildlife Observation

Raft to a quieter section of the river where fishing opportunities are abundant. Spend the day fishing and take time to enjoy the natural beauty, with wildlife sightings possible along the way. Camp at a scenic spot by the river’s edge.

Day 4

Day 5

Prime Fishing Locations

Raft to the best-known fishing spots of the Bheri River. Fish for Golden Mahseer and other species, experiencing one of the best fishing stretches of the river. Set up camp at a beautiful location and spend the evening relaxing by the river.

Day 5

Day 6

Return to Chisapani

On the final day, raft back to Chisapani. Reflect on the experience as you journey through calmer waters. Once back at Chisapani, pack up and prepare for your return trip. You can drive back to Nepalgunj for your flight back to Kathmandu or take an optional flight from Nepalgunj to Kathmandu.
